The sleep of the innocent

Paul, just turned four, is our resident thinker. The other night, curled up in the chair-and-a-half that has recently been renamed "The Family Chair," he was recovering from a scolding. After a few minutes, he says, "Mommy?" "Yes Paul?" I respond, shifting the baby so I can see him. "Well, Mommy, I was thinking. When I'm asleep, I don't do bad things!"

That's the best argument I've ever heard for staying in bed all day!
